[140/365] Sun & Clouds, Los Angeles, California, USA

Sunny days throughout Memorial Day Weekend - just perfect!

[139/365] Clock & Postcards, Los Angeles, California, USA

Tick tock, tick tock. Every morning I wake up to this large clock above my window, constantly urging me to wake up with every passing minute. As with every morning, day, month, year, time seems to be going at the speed of light - and once it passes by, it is lost forever. Is there a way to make time slow down?

Below it are vintage postcards from one of my favorite cities in the world, Paris. Bonjour! Hello! Have a great day today - Memorial Day weekend is just around the corner for most of us! :)

[138/365] Colorful Flowers, Carlsbad, California, USA

I'm hoping for sunny May days. What's up with this rain and gloominess!??

[137/365] Horse Races, Hollywood Park, Inglewood, California, USA

Watched the race from behind the gate. It was so exciting!

[136/365] Remy & My Shoes, Los Angeles, California, USA

Taking a 4-month old puppy on a 7 mile hike means one tired puppy. I'm glad to see that Remy thinks my shoes are a good pillow! :P

[135/365] Heart-Shaped Rock Formation, Hike up to San Vicente Peak, Los Angeles, California, USA

What is the story behind this? Is it a story of two soulmates, a new relationship, a lost love, an inner peace? We found this along the hike up to San Vicente Peak, and I couldn't help taking a picture and thinking about the possible backstory. Or maybe I'm thinking too much and it was created by a little kid that just likes the heart shape...

Let your imagination run free!

[134/365] Hike up to San Vicente Peak, Santa Monica Mountains, Los Angeles, California, USA

The skies were blue and the temperature was mild, making for a great day for a 7 mile roundtrip hike up to San Vicente Peak in the Santa Monica mountains. The trailhead was nestled in a Brentwood community. At the top of the mountain were picnic tables and an old nike missile site and views stretching out to Century City, Downtown LA, and the Santa Monica Beach. Tiring, but nice views on a non-hazy day in LA.

[133/365] Seating, Hollywood Park, Inglewood, California, USA

Most of the Hollywood Park is General Admission so a lot of people were walking around, with some sitting. This is a picture of the seats (duh). :) Have a great weekend!

[132/365] At the Races, Hollywood Park, Inglewood, California, USA

What a fun day at the races! I've never gone before, but enjoyed my first time! The horses I chose were Brianville (race 6), One Track Mind (race 7), California Heat (race 8) and MABEEAWISHCOMETRUE (race 8). One Track Mind was the only one that won me some money. ;) These were some of the horses that were there first to lead the race horses to their starting point. The little girl looks on with awe.

[131/365] Lemon Tree, Downtown LA Artwalk, Los Angeles, California, USA

Sometimes, just sometimes, life give you lemons, and well, you're supposed to make lemonade. This was an art piece at the Downtown LA Artwalk a couple months ago. My how time flies. I can't believe it is already nearing the midpoint of the year.

But yeah, I agree, if life give you lemons, make that lemonade...because what else can you do with them??

Have a happy Friday!

[130/365] Roosevelt Hotel, Hollywood, Los Angeles, California, USA

The famed Roosevelt Hotel can be seen right across the street from the Grauman's Chinese Theater. It was named after Theodore Roosevelt and opened in 1927 to have the presence of many famous celebrities throughout the years. Just looking across to the hotel brings a feeling of classic Hollywood days, as if it were just as it was when it opened in the 20's.

[129/365] Solstice Canyon Hike Views, Malibu, California, USA

The views as we hiked up the hill were great! We saw all the way to the blue ocean and over all the green hills surrounding us.

[128/365] Tater Tot Casserole, Union City, California, USA

Yes, to answer your question, it does taste as delicious as it looks! My cousin, Amanda, brought up the idea of cooking jambalaya, and I thought of this tater tot casserole that I had seen pictures of in her food album. We layered the tray with chili and hot dog slices, topped it with extra crispy tater tots and covered it with cheese. Baked it in the oven and there you go. Yummm! =P

[127/365] Rising Sun Trail, Solstice Canyon Loop Hike, Malibu, California, USA

Yesterday I went on a hike on the Solstice Canyon Loop. The Rising Sun Trail took us uphill and to great views of the ocean and the hills and valleys all around us. The trail then went downhill into the Tropical Terrace where we had lunch on some rocks above a waterfall. Fun puppy hike! Saw this along the trail!

[126/365] Archie, Fremont, California, USA

I don't know when it happened, but our family has so many dogs now! Well, started from zero to two to six. Some of them were at the Mother's Day brunch. Meet Archie, Amanda's dog. So cute!

[125/365] Road Trip Stop, Big Sur, California, USA

One of our many stops along the PCH was in Big Sur. Along the road were these colorful and interesting looking flowers, with a No Parking guard right by it. Stops on road trips always seem to have unique characteristics depending on where you are.

[124/365] Harry Potter Footprints, Grauman's Chinese Theater, Hollywood, California, USA

Having visitors is a great excuse to take my camera around and pretend to be a tourist in LA! On this excursion, we went to the Grauman's Chinese Theatre and walked past the stars and through the many cement handprints and footprints that cover the space around the entrance of the theater. This one was of the prints of the Harry Potter stars - and my friends doing what everyone does there - step into their footprints!

[123/365] Orchids, Happy Mother's Day, San Jose, California, USA

I loved being able to celebrate Mother's Day with my mom! I've seldom gone home for Mother's Day for years and years now, so this time felt that much more special. Our family's Mother's Day brunch was a success and we hope all the moms enjoyed it! These were some orchids she got on the way home from San Jose. It's not really related to Mother's Day, but just thought I'd take this time to wish my mom a Happy Mother's Day! :)

[122/365] View along the Pacific Coast Highway, California, USA

The drive between the Bay Area and LA along the Pacific Coast Highway is long and windy, but worth it for the beautiful scenery. It was a gloomy day, but the views of the ocean, bridges, and mountains were still nice. Thank goodness for the Dramamine - didn't really get carsick! We missed seeing the McWay Falls (waterfall that flows into the ocean) that I've been wanting to see for so long, but I'll just save that for next time. Fun trip!

Blog Update: Out of Town

Happy Friday! I'm out of town for the weekend so no photos until Monday night. Happy Mother's Day to all the mothers out there! :)

[121/365] Father's Office Burger & Fries, Los Angeles, California, USA

Father's Office burgers are my favorite! The burgers, coupled with the sweet potato fries...amazing. Good thing it's late and I'm not hungry right now!

[120/365] Leaves, UCLA, Los Angeles, California, USA

Hello! This was taken on my walk through UCLA, outside the School of Law. Have a great day!

[119/365] Sculpture Garden & Trees, UCLA, Los Angeles, California, USA

I was at UCLA this past weekend. Oh, how I miss college days! Went there to make a delivery, but stayed a little while to take a stroll around campus. Made my rounds to Kerckhoff (I was there so much, you could call it my past home), Ackerman, Bruin Bear, Powell, Royce, Bunche Hall, Dodd Hall, etc... This is back by the Sculpture Garden, past the Public Policy building I used to work at. UCLA is such a pretty campus! I might be biased. Maybe.

[118/365] Pinata, Los Angeles, California, USA

I had a fun time at the Beer Olympics. Go Team Pounders!

This was the pinata at the housewarming party. Sorry, Pinata, that bat is coming for you! Needed to crack it open to get the chocolate treats, ring pops and fun star sunglasses!
