Red Rose, California, USA

We went to a Bargain Camera Show in Pasadena and I bought a filter for my camera lenses. The one I used on this one was warming one. Filters are fun!

Woodford Reserve Bourbon Distillery, Versailles, Kentucky, USA

We had to make a stop on the Kentucky Bourbon trail on our way towards Ohio! The one we stopped at was for Woodford Reserve, a small batch Bourbon distillery. We became well acquainted with it on our visit to Kentucky because it was the official Bourbon of the Kentucky Derby. It was a really nice day out - and the tour was interesting. Of course, we got a tasting at the end. Not a huge fun of Bourbon, but at least I took a little sip and passed it along.

Fountain, Fountain Square, Cincinnati, Ohio, USA

I love fountains! This one was in Fountain Square after we had a delicious pasta dinner. I enjoyed Cincinnati!

Race 12, Kentucky Oaks, Churchill Downs, Louisville, Kentucky, USA

I think this was Race 12 at Kentucky Oaks! So exciting!

The Fascinator, Kentucky Oaks, Churchill Downs, Louisville, Kentucky, USA

So many different types of headpieces at Churchill Downs! I learned a new term at Oaks and Derby Day - the Fascinator. It's the headpieces of flowers, feathers, etc that are attached by a headband or clip. I want! (Maybe not one like this one pictured, but one that is a little more simple.)

Kentucky Oaks From the Clubhouse, Churchill Downs, Louisville, Kentucky, USA

Wow what a beautiful day for the Kentucky Oaks! Despite weather reports predicting morning showers, the sun came and stayed out all day long. The women were dressed up in their best dresses and especially their best hats. I LOVED the fashion and it makes me want to go out and buy dresses!

The Kentucky Oaks is the day before the Kentucky Derby, a Grade I stakes race for three-year-old Thoroughbred fillies (young female horses). The theme was "Pink Out" to support Breast Cancer Awareness.

Plum Pretty won the big Kentucky Oaks Race, and there were 11 other races throughout the day. Victoria's Wildcat was able to win me some money in one of the races. What a lovely time!

Indianapolis Motor Speedway Race Timer, Indianapolis, Indiana, USA

Behind the gate fences was the massive timing indicator for the races.

Indianapolis Motor Speedway, Indianapolis, Indiana, USA

Our trip started off with our flight touching down in the city of Indianapolis. When I think of Indianapolis, the first thing I think of is the Indy 500. By the time we got there, the museum had just closed but we were able to walk around and see the track and the seating. It's huge and I can only imagine the sheer magnitude of the hundreds of thousands of people that fill these seats each year for the Indy 500.
