I've always loved photography! On April 12, 2009, I decided I wanted to do something with my photos. Blogspot seemed to be the place to be - the rest is history. I don't take a photo everyday (although I have my camera everywhere and do take a LOT of pictures). Just ask my friends. I just don't think I can take a picture EVERYDAY that I truly liked. So, with my photo diary, I post recent pictures, but also go into my Picasa and search for photos I have taken in years past that I really like.
Oh, did I mention I LOVE to travel too? Everytime I go on a trip, I take thousands of photos. My memory isn't as great as I'd like it to be and so let's face it, pictures do the job.
How did this love of photography begin?
I think it's safe to say that I grew up with an inherent gravitation towards cameras. I have albums and albums of photos my parents took of me from the moment I was born. As I grew older, I was given the opportunity to use those good old film cameras - 24 exposure, 36 exposure - you know, the ones you have to bring to a photo lab to get developed. Not only that, but I was in an after school program in middle school for photography - we'd actually bring film and develop them in black and white in a light room. That was so much fun! In high school, I took a photo class where we rolled our own black and white film, and developed all of our photos on photo paper. My freshman year in college, I got my first digital camera as my birthday gift from my mom. I think I've had about 7 digital cameras since. I upgrade/replace them sometime because they break, sometimes just because I want a newer model.
