[157/365] Boca Football Stadium, El Caminito, Buenos Aires, Argentina

I know how much Argentina loves their soccer (better known as football)! The Boca Football Stadium was just a couple of blocks away from the El Caminito area and it was painted in bright blues and yellows. I wish I got to go to a game while I was there!

I will admit I don't know too much about the teams in the World Cup (although I've been learning a lot recently), but I chose Argentina to go pretty far on my bracket. So much fun following the World Cup! There's so much passion and excitement from fans and players.

Rainbow over Iguazu Falls, Puerto Iguazu, Argentina

It was wintertime in Argentina, but it sure didn't feel like it. At Puerto Iguazu in the northeast corner of Argentina, are one of the most beautiful waterfalls I have ever seen. The 275 falls stretch along the Iguazu river, surrounded by a lush, green environment. The falls border three different countries: Argentina, Brazil and Paraguay.

Even as rain drops came down and our boat got so close to the waterfall that the power of the falls splashed water directly at us, we were still lucky enough to witness the sun shining. As the sun came out and we got off the boat, dripping wet, we were able to see a beautiful rainbow just over the water. It was an amazing sight!

Lake Nahuel Huapi, San Carlos de Bariloche, Argentina

A scenic twenty hour bus ride south from the city of Mendoza, we arrived in the city of San Carlos de Bariloche in the Patagonia region of Argentina with just a short amount of time before darkness would come. As we walked to the Nahuel Huapi Lake, we came upon a couple walking to the water's edge. It was a peaceful walk and even though we were freezing (it was winter in Argentina), we enjoyed seeing one of the beautiful lakes of the Lake District. We debated whether we should make the long trek to Bariloche since the days were winding down for our time in Argentina, but this trip was well worth it. The city was charming - streets of wooden buildings, factories full of the famous Bariloche chocolate, and huge St. Bernard dogs walking around taking photos with people. We were even greeted with snow the next morning!

Floralis Generica, Buenos Aires, Argentina

This structure is called the Floralis Generica and it is located in the United Nations park in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Its a massive metal structure representing a flower and adds to the modernity of the city. The metal flower rested in a circular pool of water. The flower opens and closes with the time of day; during the daytime, the petals open up and during the night, the petals close. I hadn't seen a photo of this prior to visiting Buenos Aires, so it was even more amazing. We walked all the way around to take photos from all angles. One of the most interesting and surprising treats of our trip!
