I took a trip to the Arclight Hollywood Theater to see a photography exhibit on display around the theater. We went upstairs and I got this photo of the clock and ticket counters.

[130/365] Roosevelt Hotel, Hollywood, Los Angeles, California, USA

The famed Roosevelt Hotel can be seen right across the street from the Grauman's Chinese Theater. It was named after Theodore Roosevelt and opened in 1927 to have the presence of many famous celebrities throughout the years. Just looking across to the hotel brings a feeling of classic Hollywood days, as if it were just as it was when it opened in the 20's.

Having visitors is a great excuse to take my camera around and pretend to be a tourist in LA! On this excursion, we went to the Grauman's Chinese Theatre and walked past the stars and through the many cement handprints and footprints that cover the space around the entrance of the theater. This one was of the prints of the Harry Potter stars - and my friends doing what everyone does there - step into their footprints!

What a pretty tiramisu cake! Too bad I was WAY too full to eat anything else after dinner. Happy (belated) birthday to my friend, Natalie! Hope you enjoyed your birthday celebration. :)

[34/365] Cafe Was, Dine LA Restaurant Week, Hollywood, California, USA

Live to eat. DineLA Restaurant Week 2010 is in full effect. What restaurant did we choose? Cafe Was in Hollywood. I love the ambiance there! It's a French bistro type restaurant and the center of the dining room has this amazing piano that rotates slowly as you have dinner. While we were there, there was someone playing and singing (maybe I should have gotten her name). Started off the meal with a tuna tartare with a date wrapped in bacon, moved onto the Soup du Jour - a vegetable soup, then on to the main course - a seafood bouillabaisse, and then finally finished off with a dessert of apple caramel beignet with vanilla ice cream! Wow, it was all delicious! :) Gotta love a good fine dining experience.

Tchaikovsky Spectacular with LA Philharmonic, plus Fireworks!, Hollywood, California, USA

Spending a summer night outside watching a classical music performance, drinking wine and eating cheese and crackers with friends - this is what I love about summer! Towards the end of the show, there was a fireworks display and luckily, I was able to capture the multitude of colors coming from behind the main stage. Built in the 1920's, the Hollywood Bowl is a famous amphitheatre nestled within the Hollywood hills, and still is popular as a music venue in the Los Angeles area.
